About Seattle

Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Seattle is a metropolis surrounded by some of the country's most amazing natural landscapes. With the Olympic Mountains to the west, the Cascade Range to the east, and Mount Rainier to the south, the city offers endless opportunities to explore nature.

The Art Institute of Seattle is located on the Elliott Bay waterfront in downtown Seattle. Many of the classrooms offer views of the Olympic Mountains. The campus is just blocks away from Seattle's Belltown neighborhood, known for its restaurants and nightlife. The famous Pike Place Market and the Olympic Sculpture Park are other nearby attractions.

The Seattle area is home to many global companies including Amazon.com, Expedia, Microsoft, RealNetworks, Getty Images, Corbis, Nintendo of America, REI, Eddie Bauer, Nordstrom, Starbucks, Brooks Running, Fantagraphics Books, Costco, and Weyerhauser. Adobe, Facebook, and Google also have offices in Seattle.

Mission Statement

The mission of The Art Institute of Seattle is to provide career-driven, professional education programs. Degree programs prepare students to begin careers in design, media, fashion, and culinary fields by focusing on the demands of professional practice. They incorporate curriculum in both core technical disciplines and liberal arts. The college is dedicated to holistic student development and providing a positive and supportive learning community.

The college fosters a campus culture of involvement and service with its constituencies including its faculty, staff, students, and alumni, as well as the local arts, business and academic communities.
