The Art Institute of Phoenix opened in September 1995. Today it occupies 72,000 square feet of creative space for students in design, media arts, culinary, and fashion programs.

Many students choose to live in school-sponsored housing located close to The Art Institute of Phoenix. The fully-furnished apartments include onsite parking, professional property management, swimming pools and Jacuzzis, fitness centers, and an internet café. Residence Life Coordinators are available onsite to help students with questions as they transition to college life. Students who live in school-sponsored housing are also invited to socials throughout the year.
To build relationships and gain experience in their areas of study, many students participate in special events and workshops, join student groups, and work in internships within the Phoenix area.
