Eric Watson Named Dean of Academic Affairs at The Art Institute of Charleston

The Art Institute of Charleston, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, announced recently that Eric Watson has been named Dean of Academic Affairs.

[Charleston, SC Feb. 13, 2012] The Art Institute of Charleston, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, announced recently that Eric Watson has been named dean of academic affairs. Watson began his career with The Art Institutes as a faculty member and assistant academic director of Culinary Arts at The Art Institute of Phoenix. He came to Charleston in 2008 to take the reins as department chair of Culinary Arts for The Art Institute of Charleston.

Rick Jerue, president of The Art Institute of Charleston, commented, "It gives me great pleasure to welcome Eric to our senior management team at The Art Institute of Charleston. His broad experience in both the culinary field and with The Art Institutes will be most welcome as we move forward to the next stage of the college's growth in service to the business community and people of this beautiful city."

Watson's academic background includes an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BS inCulinary Management from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh — Online Division. He is pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education Administration at Argosy University. Honors and awards include the Cutting Edge Leadership Award and Presidential Medallion from the American Culinary Federation, the Institute Award at The Art Institute of Phoenix and Educator of the Year from the Chefs Association of Greater Phoenix.
